Reflection 14

Dwight Nelson    The Sermon

Dwight points out that at the end of Jesus’ sermon, Jesus himself states that calling Him Lord just doesn’t cut it. What problems arise in discerning Truth when many speak in Jesus’ name? How can we determine what really comes from God?

Dwight quotes Steve Peglow when he states that the Achilles heel of the contemporary Adventism and Christianity is “wanting the benefits of living with Jesus, without making the commitment.” The entire Sermon on the Mount presents a challenge. To meet that challenge requires a commitment to Jesus, and to the Way of Jesus as described in the Sermon. Reflect on your own commitment and what you need to do next to make Jesus. All.
